Local Simultaneous Multiplayer#1316

Online Multiplayer is great for friends to play while apart but not for IRL meetups and family that live together. I understand that hotseat exists but it more than doubles playtime requirements and “close your eyes” isn’t the most conducive to prevent cheating.
The only solution I can think of is to have a VR player and Desktop player share the same instance but I’m not sure how much extra work one PC would have to do to accomplish that.
In general, I wish for some way to have multiple inputs be treated as such on a local instance of TTS such that local multiplayer could be simultaneous (hidden zones like hands are nice to have but idk how tf you’d pull it off without another display).

Unfortunately, Windows, and MacOS make it very difficult to support separate instances of the same app, even assuming your system has enough power to run them. (Linux is a little better). It is probably cheaper to buy inexpensive PCs for your clients, and another for the server, and a 4 pack of game licenses. The total will still be less than the cost of a PC that can support everything!

Would it be possible for an ultra stripped down version of this then? For a game like Bullet<Heart> (no hidden information but simultaneous turns) supporting multiple inputs simultaneously would benefit greatly (i.e. 2 mouses/keyboards especially for remote play together)

I have had more than one keyboard and mouse hooked up to my PC (works just fine). So yes, you can use hot seat or mods that have custom hot seat code like my turnButton to play with more inputs, BUT there is only one mouse pointer which all the attached mice operate on, so simultaneous moves wont work well. (unless you try one of those “switch” games… Imagine a progress bar which grows or shrinks depending on whether there have been an odd or even number of clicks… one player wants to shrink it, the other to grow it. both click only when it is doing the wrong thing for them… reflexes, rhythm, perception…) a neat challenge, but really that’s about it.

thinking about it, so much time gained on “big games” with scripts.
So much place saving a game and finishing the day after.
How to make it work with friends/Family at home ?

  • A big screen to start, on the wall, inside table, etc…
  • Then everyone should have solo screen with controls on his ans shared items (tablet, smartphone, Why not some TTS devices specially made for it?)
1 pc should run it all and manage different accounts/connected devices
Start thinking about it plz TTS :)
