Changed mod save location, now images don't load#1327

I changed my Mod Save Location to my Game Data folder, but now images won’t load in the game. Details:

  • When I say images won’t load, what I mean is that when I open a workshop mod (e.g. Dixit), I get “Loading… (0/7) 0%” and it stays there. There’s no image preview on any of DLC, Workshop, or Save & Load (just a circle with a question mark). The “Classic” options all load.

  • Before some of my troubleshooting attempts, images loaded fine in some of my savegames but not others.

  • The original and the new folders are on different drives. C:\Users\MyName\Documents\My Games\Tabletop Simulator\Mods\Images -> F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tabletop Simulator\Tabletop Simulator_Data\Mods\Images

  • When I initially made the change, I closed TTS. I had read somewhere that the files I’d already downloaded would be copied over. I checked the new directory and they weren’t, so I moved the files manually.

  • Reverting the change (pointing Mod Save Location back to “Documents”) doesn’t help.

  • Renaming the old Mods\Images folder does cause a new folder to be created when I restart TTS, but the new folder doesn’t do anything.

  • TTS Mod Backup downloads images into the right folder, but neither those images nor any others are loaded by TTS when I start it.

  • I tried uninstalling, nuking registry entries in Computer\HKEY_USERS{abunchofstuff}\SOFTWARE\Berserk Games, turning off Steam cloud saves, deleting the directories in “My Games” and “steamapps\common”, and finally
    reinstalling. It asks me if I want to play the tutorial, so clearly it doesn’t remember much about me… but images still aren’t loading.

  • Other devices on the same network can load images, even from games that I host.

  • OpenGL mode doesn’t help.

  • I don’t see anything suspicious in Player.log other than a lot of “Fallback handler could not load library F:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Tabletop Simulator/Tabletop Simulator_Data/Mono/TTSMasterNativePlugin.dll” business.

  • Rebooting doesn’t help.
