The gizmo tool lets you move objects even when they are locked, and change their dimensions easily. For me, this is something I use when arranging things, especially in 3D. For example, I’ve made furniture in TTS by reshaping pieces (they need to be locked to avoid collision issues and their scaling needs to change a lot) and combining them. Doing that kind of work is a lot easier in VR, because I can easily move my head and hands in 3D space rather than constantly tweaking and moving the camera like I’ve been doing on flatscreen.
Combining is also buggy in VR, which makes it too unreliable to use when it can easily break things.
