Writing Text on a Surface of Card#2189

Dear developers,

I’m delighted to use Tabletop Simulator as it offers a sandbox environment to play board games before purchasing them. I’d like to share my experience with a feature in the game that involves writing text blocks.

In the Doom Pilgrim game, players are required to write text on the character sheet, noting items acquired, companions met, etc. I have encountered several issues with the text control functionality:

  • The text control lacks a movement feature, necessitating the use of an additional gizmo tool, which is quite inconvenient.

  • When one text block is positioned directly above another, the text menu (for decreasing font size, increasing font size, deleting, etc.) becomes unusable due to overlapping with the text above.

  • Pressing the ALT key allows me to view all the lines I’ve drawn on the character sheet using another tool, but not the text. It appears that the text isn’t written directly on the card but exists as a separate object.

I hope these points will be helpful for future improvements to the simulator.
