Can only host games, cannot join games#2268

Would love some assistance with it, i can only host games, i cant join any games.

Can you elaborate? Are you getting any error message?, the join list is empty?, if your friend not showing up in the list? whats te problem exactly?

so if a friend hosts a game or invites me and i join using either pathway it “connects” and then eventually i get the message “disconnect, kick from server”

Ive tried reinstalling/updating, restarting laptop, i went into steam files and changed the access/loading logs as one website suggested, nothign seemed to work and im not particularly gifted with tech so i dont know what to do

this seems to be either a network issue or a hardware issue. If either you or your friend has unstable connection, lag, closed ports, etc. It can cause said error as when you are trying to connect it fails.
It can also be hardware related if you are trying to join a table with a bunch of stuff, scripts, heavy assets, HD textures, particles, and so on. You can get kicked because your memory can’t hold loading all that stuff at once if your PC specs are minimum. You can try to disable HD textures, join an empty table and have your friend or you load the game once you are already inside.
