This Feedback Forum is DEAD! Tabletop Sim seems to be Abandonware AFAIC!#2462
I’ve been skimming through a lot of the posts in this page and I’ve not yet come across anyone on the dev team that replies to them. I think for all intents and purposes, Tabletop Simulator is abandonware. Sure, there’s been two DLCs added in the past 4 months and three minor updates between April 2021 and July 2024, otherwise this software not been improved upon in a very long time. Back in June 2021 they were looking to hire a UX designer, but I’ve not seen any obvious improvements to the software in years.
I’d love to see responses from the devs, but I think they’re done with this project. That’s too bad b/c I use it all the time, but it could definitely use some TLC with many things. It’s very clunky loading, moving, serving, and there’s other things.
I love the workshop community, and a lot of people have contributed gems that have definitely improved my way of playing, but that’s not from the software devs, that’s from other players.
I hope I can be proven wrong, but sadly, I don’t think I will. For any newcomer to Tabletop Sim, make sure you have no expectations for improvements. I still think this software is worth the $20 its sold for, b/c it comes with 100’s if not 1000’s of games you can download and play, so it’s worth the money from that perspective, but don’t expect a great running app either.
Is it true that Tabletop Simulator hasn’t been updated in several years?
