Drag and drop functionality: When having an image in a folder, it would be handy to drag the image from folder or viewer onto the field for quick testing an idea.
manipulating assets: When holding an item, it would be nice to bring it closer or further from the camera also with the ability to rotate the item to get a good look at it.
better controller mappings in menu: A seperate controller mapping section to properlly map controller to all interface options. I have done it now via steam input and this works, however, i could not find options to bring the object to the camera like you do with the RT of the controller. It would be nice to map this. Steam input could work fine if all navigational options are exposed
Controller configurations:
When I first enabled the controller, the first thing i noticed is how weird the camera rotation felt with theright joystick. Standard is this set to
all with focal pivot point locked to table
Rjoy up = camera rotate up,
Rjoy down =camera rotate down
Rjoy right = camera rotate right
Rjoy left = camera rotate left,
this is a very camera oriented control scheme.
but i much more prefer in this context the inverted controll scheme like so:
all also locked to the central pivot point
Rjoy up = camera rotate down
Rjoy down =camera rotate up
Rjoy right = camera left
Rjoy left = camera right
this is much more a looking orientation scheme and feels much mor intuitive. When I press up, Now I look up. When I press down, I look down, when I press left I look to the left and right to the right.
So much more a looking orientation rather than a camera controlling orientation.
It is the same way i play FPS games with a controller.
So all this ties in with a dedicated controller setup or better intergration with steam input.
