Video showing the bug and how to reproduce it:
This bug started about 6-7 months ago or so. I’m not exactly sure how long it’s been, but over a year ago, this never happened at all.
I’m having trouble replicating this on a poker table with a set of cards.
My guess is that part of the problem is that the cards are ALWAYS falling through your table into the nomans zone, while they’re grouping into larger decks from decks.
You might want to upload the file you’re using so that they can replicate this.
I can very easily replicate this on a poker table with a standard pack of cards. Load the “Solitaire” default game mode that comes with the standard installation of Tabletop Simulator, then follow the instructions laid out in this video:
So, for me I can’t do this unless I lift up the cards - otherwise, they don’t fall through the table and don’t duplicate. Can you get them to duplicate if they don’t start their fall to infinity?
If you group them with G before letting go, they seem to become real, and don’t drop through colliders – and they don’t dupe. Definitely worth having devs look into, because it will fall through tables above over tables, and through the below, forever, before duping.
This happens for things other than cards as well, such as custom chips.
Here is an example save with instructions on recreation and added scripting to reveal odd, undefined behavior with GUIDs.
The duping cards bug that I posted about in the OP video was patched, but there are still ways to dupe cards that I trigger all the time. Here’s a video showing how it can easily be reproduced using an alternate method:
This is not fixed. I can still reproduce it on the latest build that was just pushed. Why was it moved to Completed? Does that mean the devs don’t plan to ever fix it?
So, this bug is still a huge pain in the ass 6 months later. Is it actually planned to be fixed?
I can’t reproduce this bug. When I right click on a deck it doesn’t dupe them, also the cards are lowered each time when I pull out a card. Maybe you using some alternative hotkey or keybind to trigger it?
