As the title says, some games require one player to reveal his hand to the other players. Right now i’d have to abandon the handzone completely and put the cards right on the table.
I do like the idea of having a zone have a full Venn Diagram of colors instead of just one, but to solve the problem You’re facing, will teams work?
Not sure what you mean with the venn diagramm, but shouldn’t teaming show all team hands to all team players?
Venn Diagram is just a tool to visualize the setup.
Zone A can be such that Red, Yellow, and Purple can see the contents, where as Zone B can be Red, Purple, and Teal. and so on. follow.
And you’re right, my stop-gap suggestion is not ideal, but I suggested it merely as that: a stop-gap, not a replacement.
Can’t follow your train of thought.
What i need is:
Player A reveals hand,
Players B-E can see cards from Player A,
Player A can’t see cards from Player B-E.
Right, that could be acheived through the functionality I outlined above…
However, for your EXACT situation: Use a hidden zone and toggle back and forth between Reverse-Hiding programatically.
Well, could you please explain how exactly this would work? I am lost.
If i am in a team with other players, everyone in that team would get to see into each others hands and hidden zones, or not?
And for your last example, you mean to play with all hands revealed and create hidden zones around them to turn on/off as needed? With reverse hiding the player wouldn’t see his own cards. Maybe i wasn’t clear with that, those cards need to be revealed to all players at all times.
Best way is to try it.
It is my understanding that if Red and Blue are on the same team (say Hearts) - then Red and Blue players can both see Red and Blue hands. As you said, this wouldn’t work for your example.
With hidden zones: If you have a standard Red hidden zone, no one EXCEPT the Red Player can see into the hidden zone. If you turn on “Reverse Hiding” everyone can see into the zone EXCEPT Red.
The suggestion of having a List of colors that can see into a hidden zone or Hand zone, if developed, will cover all this and more.
If you need any help with implementing the Teams or the Reverse Hidden technique, I’d check out the TTS Discord - otherwise, let’s keep this for suggestions and bug reports.
