Game freezes consitently every 3 minutes.#540

Every 3 minutes the game drops to 1 fps, completly freezes for 3-5 seconds. GPU usage when this occurs plumets from 20-40% to less than 10%. Autosaving is disabled, I am not /log ing.

Things I have done to try to fix the issue:
Reinstall Steam
Reinstall TTS
disabled ULPS/made a consistent clock for my GPU
Clean driver reinstall for GPU
All other drivers are up to date.
Verified game files/cache
port forwarded steam p2p
reinstalled C++ 2012 redistributables from the troubleshooting page
Closed MSI afterburner
added TTS to antivirus firewall
It’s not thermal throttling nor CPU overloading, Windows and Nvidia control panels are set to maximum performance
Attempted windowed and full screen. Vsync off/on, etc.

My specs:
Windows 10 Home
AMD Ryzen 5 CPU
16 GB Ram
2060 S GPU
Game is on an SSD.

Pastebing of a log I took when the freezes occured: https://pastebin.com/016yJnuR

This could be an Autosave issue.

If you go to Menu > Configuration > Interface > Misc. Settings…
About half way down that menu is the Autosave Interval.

If the setting matches the time period you’re experiencing, try setting it to 0 (though, this will mean that you aren’t Autosaving).

I originally thought this as well, however I disabled autosaves and also changed the intreval to be larger, and neither changed the timing of the freezes.

I must have missed it in your original post.

What about your rewind_interval? I don’t think it’s in the Configuration settings, but is accessed via the console. Though, admittedly, I don’t know what commands you need to get/set it.

Trying autosave was the one thing I excluded from my original post, apologies. And as far as rewind_interval, I entered it into the console and it said 10.0 which I assume is the default time. Doesn’t overlap with the freezes I receive. One thing I have noticed is the games memory values climbing then changing while playing with the stats monitor enabled. That may be related to the issue, though I am unsure.

was there any resolution on this? I found that I’m having the same issue – at exactly 3 minutes, my game crawls for roughly 50 seconds (48-52 seconds it seems)

Unfortunately no, I belive it has something to do with scripting but unfortunately I’ve not found anything that fixes the issue

I may have found a … workaround? solution? part of the problem?… by shutting down any ASUS services, terminating all ASUS processes, and terminating all Citrix processes, everything seems to be running smoother! At least… for now? (I use Citrix ICA Web Client for work.)

I feel like it’s most likely the Citrix stuff but I haven’t done troubleshooting to see if leaving the ASUS stuff alone would be enough. I knew there was some problem with Citrix and Unity applications but didn’t know if could present itself like this. My GPU had previously been railing at 100% constantly and now it’s running at around 50%. \o/

UPDATE: spoke too soon… maybe there’s something with shutting services and everything down before starting anything? :(

Did anyone ever find a solution to this issue?

Sadly not Jaffa I believe it has to do with the game design in general. It seems to have issues with memory leakage as it continues to accumulate memory usage overtime and seems to become unstable after reaching a certain peak, possibly due to being built around a 32-bit architecture. Once things get loaded they never unload unless you close/reopen the game. Something that might help is to occasionally restart the game, which is a pain, but the only thing that could be of use.

Do you experience this with any mod? Because I only had this issue with one single specific mod, and not any other.
