RFE: Compressed saves#678

Some of the more detailed workshop mods are extremely large, with JSON files in the dozens of MiB. The JSON format is highly-compressible (around 90:1 in most cases with LZMA2) and would thus require significantly less space on the hard drive as well as bandwidth when loading the game in multiplayer.

I also see an error when a non-host tries to save such a game, I believe the maximum non-host save file limit is on the order of 10 MB?

I’m not sure I’m in favour of this one. I sometimes use an external script to effectively generate a JSON save file as a way of Mass importing in preperation of setting up a utility for upload to the workshop. For downloading an uploading? sure, but I’d be in favour of it staying as plain text on the actual disk… or at least the ability to continue reading a plain text save.
