When dealing cards, allow the ability to choose how many cards to deal#738

TTS allows an easy shortcut to draw any number of cards, which is to simply type the number you want while hovering over a deck.

However, there is no such shortcut when it comes to dealing cards to players.

If you have to deal out an entire deck to three people, for example, you need to click Deal-All 18 times. That’s ludicrous.

The context menu should allow an easy way to specify how many cards to deal (to a single or all players).

Edouard made a fantastic suggestion on how to address this. When right clicking a deck and going to Deal, you should be able to hover over any player color (including All Players) and simply type the number of cards you wish to deal. That is an elegant solution that lines up perfectly with how players can currently draw cards.

It’s very rare need. So the most of the players will waste their attention to this option in context menu.

You can make a button “Deal to all players” with a small Lua script.

It would be cool if pressing an alphanumeric key number while hovering a color for who to deal to would deal that many cards. So pressing 3 while hovering red would deal 3 cards to red, as an example. You could then do the same for the “deal to all” button

Star, yes of course, you can script it. But not everyone is capable of that, and this is something that should simply be part of the UI in the first place.

I would also disagree with you that it’s a very rare need. Card games are common, and dealing an entire deck out is something that happens in many games.

That’s a very elegant solution that matches the same UI behavior for drawing cards.

It should also support multiple digit numbers (e.g. to deal 18 cards).
