Hands become broken in hotseat mode.#996

When in a hotseat game, when you draw a card using the [1] hotkey after starting your turn, your hand can become “broken”. Any cards you add to your hand do not move to their usual spot or show up in the hand gui, instead they hover in the center of the hand location, then fall out after a few seconds. This mainly happens on the second time player 2 starts their turn after the table is cleared when they draw a card while already having other cards in their hand. Once a player’s hand is in this state, the only way to return it to normal is to save the game, quit to the main menu, and load the save. Clearing the table has no effect. I play card games in hotseat mode a lot and this bug occurs rather frequently.

I set up a 2-player hotseat game using the built in Cards game, and couldn’t reproduce. If you provide detailed steps / a game save that always result in the issue then I can look again.

It seems to occur randomly when beginning a turn with cards already in a player’s hand. In these games the players are drawing from two seperate decks with custom images. I cannot provide a saved game because reloading the save fixes the issue.

I have been having this issue as well for several months now. I have only played hotseat in two different card games (one which includes scripting elements and one which does not) and the issue occurs in both. I have not pinpointed any particular actions that seem to precede the issue, though I can confirm the issue is immediately apparent when drawing cards with the number key right after passing the turn. As the other user stated, the cards are drawn either towards but not into the hand, or to wherever the user most recently clicked. The cards hover for a few seconds and then drop, and do not automatically group into decks or arrange themselves correctly in hand zones.

If it is another action that is the root cause for this happening, I only have a few hints at what it might be based on the two games where I have had this occur being similar as far as typical player actions: draw from and return cards to deck, manually move cards into and out of hands, shuffle and search decks, flip and rotate cards. I have never seen the bug in multiplayer or singleplayer rooms even when performing the same actions (other than hotseat pass turn, of course).

I have also been consistently having this issue. There is no indication of when or how this bug occurs, but it frequently shows up every few turns, across all players. Saving and reloading fixes it temporarily, but it keeps coming back.
