Since dungeons and dragons is adapting to the metric system, tabletop simulator needs to adapt as well, so international players could understand the measures given by the “Line” tool, like adding a unit of meassure counts 1 grid square as 5 ft or 1.5m

The line tool already supports measuring in Inches, CM, or Grid squares

The current line tool only counts grid squares as 1 square. What RPG game community needs is a measurement unit that scales with the grid and counts each grid square as 5ft/1.5m in order to make it easier for most rpg systems to count distances in rpg sessions.

Ah, I see. Making the measurement system a little more comprehensive will be a good thing to add in future, I’ll definitely come back to this when I have time.
For now, there is a workaround you can use: there is a measure_inch_multiplier console command, which is applied when you set the measure tool to inches. So you could, for example, use the inch tool to measure 10 grid cells, divide either 50 (feet) or 15 (meters) by the result, and set measure_inch_multiplier to what you get, at which point you should see the measurements give the correct values.
If you put the command in your autoexec it’ll restore when you launch (or you could bind each version to a key, so you could swap between feet and meters). Each player who wants to use these units would have to use inch measurements and similarly set this value.

I’ve added a measure_grid_multiplier command for the next patch that’ll make this simpler: when that patch is out you can set the line measure tool to grid, and set measure_grid_multiplier to 5 or 1.5

I will try that as soon as the new patch is available, still I appreciate that this can eventually get some attention, as to actually be integrated as a formal tool one day. Thank you so much!
